Liebster Award

liebster-blog-award1

Thank you very much to Jill London for nominating me for this award. The lovely Jill, asked me, as one of her nominees, to pick from one of the awards that she had been nominated for and I choose this one, partly because I didn’t know what it meant beforehand and had to look it up (I like a challenge!) and partly because it appealed to me once I did know. Just in case there are others who don’t now what it means, it is an award for new bloggers with less than 200 followers and it inspired me to go on the hunt for some new blogs so it was worth it just for that!

The rules are as follows:

    • Smile your biggest smile! (okay that’s not an official rule).
    • Link back to the blog of the person who nominated you.
    • Display the Award logo on your blog/post
    • Answer the 10 random questions or make up your own questions/facts about yourself – I have decided to go with my own invented number list to mix it up a bit.
    • Nominate 10 other bloggers for the Award and link their blog sites (see below).
    • Notify the bloggers of their award – if they want to carry on the Award, by answering their own 10 questions, that’s great if not there is no obligation to do so, sometimes it’s just nice to hear that you are appreciated 🙂
    • Enjoy!

    So here goes:

10 of my favourite activities: reading on the toilet, being comfy, going to theme parks, stargazing, writing, kissing, camping, eating pasta, pubbing, talking.

9 of the foods I love: Macaroni Cheese, Lasagne, Cheese, Peanut Butter, Coronation Chicken, Pizza, my Mum’s Spinach, feta and Mushroom Filo Pastry, my Dad’s Bacon and Cashew Nut pasta, Satay sauce (on everything!).

8 of my top songs: Drive My Car by The Beatles, Super Massive Black Hole by Muse, Walk This Way by Aerosmith & RunDMC, I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars, Funky Cold Medina by Tone Loc, Pretty Fly For A White Guy by Offspring, Bad Day by R.E.M.

7 of my favourite authors: Toni Morrison, Jane Austen, J.K Rowling, Marian Keyes, David Nicholls, kazuo ishiguro, Audrey Niffenegger.

6 of the things that annoy me: arrogance, being cold, injustice, cutting onions, work, alarms.

5 of the things that tickle my pickle: The laughing game (fake laughing until you really laugh), gurning, people falling over, Russel Brand, bad singing.

4 of my fears: Peacocks, Windfarms, Small Spaces, being alone.

3 of my wishes: more time to read, more understanding in the world, that I had Bernard’s watch.

2 of my heroes : My Parents

1 of my secrets: I once participated in a ‘how many icecubes can you put down your pants’ competition, when I was out to dinner. I won but spent quite awhile looking like I had wet myself and feeling rather numb, which didn’t make for the most comfortable of restaurant experiences!

If you are still reading after my icecube confession, my nominations go to those people whose blogs I enjoy, on a daily basis, and also to some blogs I have just discovered and already love. Please do check them all out, there are some wonderful writers out there in the blogosphere:

What a great list, Lydia. I love everything in number 10, except theme parks would have to go to number 4 (I am that cowardy custard). Love your top songs but don’t know Funky Cold Medina so I’m off to investigate! New favourite phrase of the day: tickle my pickle 😀 xx

hehe! Glad you enjoyed it. Let me know what you think of Funky Cold Medina, I heard it in the film “You, Me and Dupree” and just had to look it up 🙂 All day today I kept thinking about other songs I should have included, turns out it’s hard to just pick a few!x

Confession: The toilet has always been one of my favorite reading places, too. X)

I’m not sure what it is that makes it so appealing but it really is! my family laugh at me because even when we go camping I can’t go to the shower block without my book! 😉
