Who said reading can’t be hot?

2013-08-31 14.48.27

I thought I had heard of some strange places to read and perhaps even invented a few myself! The place that has probably made me subject of the most ridicule is on the exercise bike at the gym. I used to do my 10 mins and then finish the page before moving on. Apparently people generally don’t read at the gym and usually don’t stay on the machines without exercising but how was I to know that was a rule if no-one told me?

But, I think my extra-curricular exercise bike activity is nothing compared to what I witnessed the other day. After a nice long(ish) swim, I heaved myself jumped out of the pool and made my way to the sauna, where there was a man facing a wall. I didn’t think much of it (other than that he was probably a very private person or the site of me in a swimming costume scared him which is understandable) until I heard a rustle. I looked over and he was actually reading a novel.

A novel.

In the sauna.

Now if that isn’t a strange place to read and something that should be reported to the libraries, or local book police, as book abuse I don’t know what is!

When a book is that good, you know you have to take it wherever you go. Just no hanging out on the exercise equipment please!

Haha! Don’t worry I gave up the gym a long time ago, the bikes just weren’t comfy enough 😉
