When I grow up I want to be…a bank lady?

They just have really nice nails and are able to run marathons in heels (something you surely can’t help but admire, no matter who you are!).  There is something that appeals to some part of me (probably the same part that likes shoes and cocktails and pink a little bit) about the way they always seem to have perfect nails that make just the right amount of click on the keyboard. They seem purposeful and important because they are allowed to touch huge quantities of money. I mean, probably more than the Queen is allowed to.

Even though I now work in an office, which is admittedly the most unglamorous of its kind, that I know of, I still think that perhaps it is different for bank ladies and that they have a secret nail polish allowance as part of their wages. I think there should be a nail polish named bank lady, it would be the shiniest of all the shiny things!

I admire them. In the same way that I admire people who can be arsed to do their hair really nicely every morning.

I always think, if only I could be bothered to paint my nails properly, straighten my hair and wear something nice, that my life’s problems would be solved, just like the adverts promised.
