Ten books on my list for this year…..

1. 1984 by George Orwell – Can’t believe I haven’t read this yet, been meaning to for ages as I love dystopian novels and it’s sitting on my bookcase waiting for me.

2. Never Let me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro – this is a re-read but I want to do a book review and I feel that I won’t do it justice unless I read it again.

3. The Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness – I have been interested in Salem and the Witch hunts since reading Arthur Miller’s play The Crucible, in School, years ago. There’s vampires in it too.

4. Irma Voth by Miriam Toews – A novel recommended to me as something I would love so I better find out!

5. Game of Thrones by George R.R Martin- all 7! Ben is reading them and absolutely loves them – this is all the more amazing because a year ago he had never finished a novel and he has been devouring these.

6. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – looks like just my kind of mystical fiction.

7. The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff – A book about a woman who is in a polygamous marriage.

8. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen – Although I love Jane Austen I am yet to read all of her novels (Shameful I know!)

9. The Books of Magic by Neil Gaiman – I read a review on Neil Gaiman and the writer was so enthusiastic I thought it’s only fair to give him a try. I loved the Stardust film too!

10. The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood – just because she is one of my favourite authors.
